BECOMING A MEMBER
From our convenient and private waterfront location on Chippewa Lake, our rustic clubhouse and shaded grounds offer a great place to relax and unwind. We offer affordable recreation at a variety of different membership levels. Owning a sailboat, although strongly encouraged, is not necessary for membership. CYC welcomes small boat sailors of all skill levels as well as non-sailors.
If you are considering membership, please contact us to set up a tour, or stop by any Sunday afternoon in the summer months. Membership applications require the sponsorship of two members in good standing of the club. Membership is granted by a majority of the voting members. There is a one-time initiation fee of $50 required when submitting an application. All fees listed are due annually and have applicable sales tax added (2023 fees listed).
MEMBERSHIP
General Member | $580
Owns a sailboat that may be stored at CYC throughout the boating season. May store up to two hand-powered watercraft at CYC throughout the boating season. Has full access to CYC and club loaner boats. May hold office and vote.
Senior Member | $522
A General member, but sixty-five (65) years of age or older. Owns a sailboat that may be stored at CYC throughout the boating season. May store up to two hand-powered watercraft at CYC throughout the boating season. Has full access to CYC and club loaner boats. May hold office and vote.
Commodore's Club | $232
A member who has held one or more offices for a period of at least three (3) years. May not store a sailboat at the club. May store up to two hand-powered watercraft at CYC throughout the boating season. Has full access to CYC and club loaner boats. May hold office and vote.
Junior Member | $290
A General member aged 21-25 years old. Owns a sailboat that may be stored at CYC throughout the boating season. May store one hand-powered watercraft at CYC throughout the boating season. Has full access to CYC and club loaner boats. May not hold office or vote.
Social Member | $310
A member who does not own a sailboat. May store up to two hand-powered watercraft at CYC throughout the boating season. Has full access to CYC and club loaner boats. May not hold office but may vote.
New at July 4th | $390
General Member who joins on or after July 4.
New at Labor Day | $195
General Member who joins on or after Labor Day.
Alumni Member | $50
Inactive CYC member. Receives all CYC mailings and email updates and is welcome to attend the End of Year Awards Banquet.
