Small Boat Regatta

On June 9 2018, CYC will organize a sailing regatta that’s fun for every sailor (experienced or not) using any type of (dinghy) sailboat. Using the Portsmouth Yardstick system, each boat is assigned a handicap number and can race against one other using time measurements.
What can you expect:
A day filled with fun sailing regatta’s for young and old for experienced and inexperienced sailors.
If you do not own a boat or don’t know how to sail, please call and we will try to match you up with one of our Club members.
For the inexperienced sailors, there will be a short introduction to regatta sailing to go over the basic rules.
Good food, drinks.
Everyone is welcome to watch the races from our club grounds. For the youngsters there’s a sandbox, swings and a beach area. Please note that life vests are required for youngsters under 13 years old, a limited number of life vests are available for loan at Club.
Camping is available at our facility from Friday to Sunday morning; please call to make arrangements.
Schedule of Events: • 8-10:00 AM: Arrival, breakfast, sign-up • 11:00 AM: Regatta briefing • 12:00 PM: First race starts; expect up to 3 to 4 races back to back • ~5:00 PM: Dinner and prizes Quick Info: • Sailors $25 per person (includes breakfast, dinner, and prizes) • Breakfast only guests: $5 per person • Dinner only guests: $10 per person • Portsmouth Yardstick handicap timing system • Camping available on club grounds Friday evening to Sunday morning • Families welcome!
